Public transport today is a great way to get around without owning a car. Depending on where you live there may be a schedule of frequent buses, trolleys or trains that you can use to get around. This can be a much cheaper alternative to owning a car or truck to go to and from work. While at the same time the use of public transit varies from one city to another. Using reliable public-transportation can not only let you travel at ease but still get to you destination on time.

In today's times Public transit consists of trains, buses, trams, ferries or even a trolley. This gets people where they need to go and usually run on a consistent schedule. A fare is paid for daily, weekly, monthly or yearly for their services. A person can get on a tram in the morning to go to work, then after work take the same tram back home. This can provide a cheaper solution in some cases to owning a vehicle to get around.

Through the years this can surely add up especially if you have a long commute to work each day. Of course one of the most convenient benefits of taking city transport is being able to rest from point A to B, letting the tram, bus or train driver do all the work.

In most cases you can purchase a frequent rider ticket or card that lets you take the bus, trolley, tram or train a set amount of times or unlimited times in a period of time. In Europe it can be quite simple to catch a tram to get you to work or to the grocery store.

Public Transit provides a great number of people a way to travel freely about an area such as a metropolitan city at ease. This can save a lot of money for those that don't wish to own a vehicle or put up with traffic, in the long run saving them money.
